Course Overview

Aiming to succeed at a senior operations level? Prepare for roles where you’ll operate independently, take responsibility for others and make operational business decisions.

Possible SENIOR OPERATIONS positions: banquet or function manager, restaurant manager, front office manager, motel manager, executive housekeeper and bar manager

Standard duration
1.5 academic years (6 terms of 10 weeks plus term breaks) including SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality

Intensive duration
1 academic year (4 terms of 10 weeks plus term breaks) including SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality

Upgrade your qualification to SIT60316 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management in just six months. Alternatively, you’ll be eligible for entry and one year’s credit towards the following degrees at Southern Cross University.

  • Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management (3007130)
  • Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management (3004145)
  • Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management (3007314)

All courses are delivered in full-time mode including 15 hours of classroom-based training and 5 hours of online learning each week. You’ll also be required to complete a compulsory 20-week work placement.

Candidates must be aged 18 years or over with evidence of at least 11 years of formal schooling and an upper intermediate level of English (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent).
