Carpenter

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at YV Corporation Pty Ltd. As a Carpenter, you will construct, install and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Your work includes reading drawings, selecting and cutting materials, assembling and fitting components, and ensuring precise installation on site and in the workshop. You may also work with metal, Perspex and laminates, and undertake repairs or build formwork when required.

The role involves conducting site inspections, verifying measurements and maintaining high-quality standards. Work is scheduled on weekdays and weekends, depending on business needs.

What you'll do

• Construct, install, erect, renovate and repair structures and fixtures using wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials, in line with drawings and specifications.
• Interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications to determine the materials, dimensions and installation methods required.
• Select and order suitable timber, hardware and materials, and prepare detailed layouts before construction begins.
• Cut timber and other materials accurately, then assemble and nail cut and shaped parts to build structural elements.
• Assemble pre-prepared wooden components into structures and fittings ready for installation.
• Construct framework and roof structures, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and ensure structural alignment and level.
• Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, and frames for windows and doors.
• Cut and fit timber joints to ensure solid connections.
• Fabricate and install concrete formwork as needed.
• Carry out repair and maintenance work on existing structures and fittings.
• Work with plastic laminates, Perspex and metals, depending on project requirements.

About you

• At least 1 year of experience working as a Carpenter.
• A Certificate III or higher qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
