About Us
J’s Kitchen Steak House is a busy bistro-style restaurant located in Berala, NSW. We offer a wide range of Australian-style bistro meals, including steaks, grilled meats, chicken schnitzels, seafood, pasta, burgers and other popular dishes.
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Job Duties
· Prepare and cook a variety of bistro-style dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu standards.
· Prepare meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other ingredients for daily service.
· Operate commercial kitchen equipment including grills, fryers and ovens.
· Complete daily food preparation and mise en place for lunch and dinner services.
· Monitor cooking times, temperatures, portion sizes and presentation to ensure consistent food quality.
· Coordinate multiple orders during busy service periods.
· Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and ensure appropriate food storage and stock rotation.
· Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
· Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
· Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements
· Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field.
· Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
· Experience preparing and cooking a range of bistro-style dishes.
· Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
