About the role
We are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider committed to helping people with disability live with dignity, independence and greater choice. Based in Holden Hill, South Australia, we deliver individualised supports including in-home assistance, supported independent living, short- and medium-term accommodation, personal care and community-based services. Our work begins with listening to each participant, understanding their goals and delivering practical, respectful support that fits their everyday life.
We are looking for caring and capable Enrolled Nurses to deliver safe, person-centred nursing support to NDIS participants in their homes, supported accommodation and community settings. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary plus superannuation. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to nursing assessment, care delivery, treatment monitoring and reviews, while building trusted relationships with participants, families and other care professionals.
These are hands-on clinical roles. You will travel to allocated participant locations across South Australia and regional Victoria and work rostered shifts as operationally required. Our office is at Holden Hill SA 5088.
What you'll do
- Take part in assessing participants' nursing needs and identifying health risks, and contribute to planning, implementing and reviewing individual nursing care in line with care plans and Registered Nurse direction.
- Deliver prescribed nursing interventions and delegated treatments within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, including wound care, pressure injury prevention, continence-related nursing care and other clinically indicated support.
- Observe and record vital signs, physical wellbeing, pain and changes in health status, recognise deterioration and promptly escalate concerns to the supervising Registered Nurse or appropriate emergency service.
- Administer and document prescribed medications where authorised by your education, competence, registration conditions, relevant law and our policy, and monitor and report responses or adverse effects.
- Monitor participants' progress against nursing goals, document responses to interventions and give clear, timely updates to Registered Nurses to support care evaluation and adjustment.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses, allied health professionals, disability support workers, participants and families to coordinate consistent, individualised care across home and accommodation settings.
- Provide nursing-related support with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, hydration and daily living activities where these are clinically relevant to the participant's care plan and your delegated nursing responsibilities.
- Explain nursing care and health-maintenance measures in accessible language, encouraging informed participation, choice and practical strategies that help prevent illness and complications.
- Maintain accurate clinical observations, nursing progress notes, medication records, incident reports and structured handovers in line with professional, organisational and privacy requirements.
- Apply infection prevention and control, safe manual handling, medication safety, safeguarding and workplace health and safety procedures, and report hazards or incidents promptly.
- Respect each participant's privacy, consent, cultural identity, communication needs and right to make decisions, while observing professional boundaries and NDIS safeguarding obligations.
- Seek timely supervision, clarification or assistance whenever clinical needs change or a proposed activity is outside your authority, preparation or demonstrated competence.
Essential
- Diploma of Nursing or an equivalent qualification recognised for enrolment in Australia, plus current registration as an Enrolled Nurse through Ahpra/NMBA.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- A demonstrated understanding of the Enrolled Nurse standards for practice, professional accountability and the requirement to work under direct or indirect Registered Nurse supervision.
- Competence in clinical observations, nursing documentation, infection control and medication administration within your authorised scope of practice.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, or the ability to obtain it before starting participant-facing duties.
- Current Working with Children Check where required for the allocated services, and current First Aid and CPR certification.
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel between assigned participant homes and community or accommodation locations.
- Strong communication, sound judgement, professional reliability and an empathetic approach to supporting people with diverse disabilities and support requirements.
- Ability to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.
Highly regarded
- Experience in disability services, community nursing, supported accommodation, aged care or caring for people with complex health needs.
We value nurses who are observant, organised, calm under pressure and comfortable working collaboratively across dispersed care settings. A genuine commitment to participant choice, continuity of care and respectful communication is essential.
