About the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Baker to join our team in Melrose Park. You will prepare and bake a variety of bakery products while maintaining consistent quality and efficient daily production. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for 2-3 years of experience.
What you'll do
- Inspect bakery equipment and work areas for hygiene and safety
- Check the quality and freshness of baking ingredients
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Knead and prepare dough for fermentation and baking
- Divide, mould and shape dough for bakery products
- Prepare pastry mixtures, fillings and other ingredients
- Operate dough mixers, rollers and shaping machinery
- Monitor oven temperatures and adjust baking times
- Coordinate baking, unloading and cooling of products
- Apply glazes, toppings and finishes to baked goods
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
- Clean and prepare baking trays, tins and equipment
About you
- A relevant qualification in Baking (Certificate III or equivalent) or relevant industry experience
- Practical experience in dough preparation, fermentation and baking techniques
- The ability to operate commercial bakery equipment safely
- Knowledge of food hygiene and workplace safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and organisational skills
