Motor Mechanic

About the role

Auto Breeze runs an automotive workshop at Factory 2, 141–143 Victoria Street, North Geelong, providing vehicle servicing, mechanical diagnosis and repairs, with complementary tyre services and a developing car rental operation. We are looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic to support reliable workshop capacity and the maintenance of customer and business vehicles. This is a permanent full-time position with 38 ordinary hours per week.

What you'll do

• Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing methods.
• Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on light vehicles.
• Inspect, repair or replace relevant engine, cooling, braking, steering and suspension components.
• Carry out quality checks and authorised road tests to confirm completed work and vehicle performance.
• Undertake tyre, wheel and alignment work where required as part of the workshop service.
• Maintain accurate job cards, service records and parts requirements, and explain findings clearly to management and customers.
• Assist with mechanical inspections and maintenance of our rental fleet.
• Follow safe workshop procedures and manufacturer specifications, and keep equipment and work areas orderly.

About you

• A relevant automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated practical experience in light-vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and complete work accurately and safely.
• Clear communication, reliable record keeping and a professional approach to customer service.
• A driver's licence valid for the vehicles being road-tested in Victoria.

Pay and benefits

Your base salary will depend on your relevant qualifications, experience and capability. Superannuation is paid in addition to the salary. Applicable overtime, penalties and allowances will be addressed in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument.
