Motor Mechanic

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of vehicles, conduct vehicle inspections, order the parts you need and deliver high-quality service, both in the workshop and, when required, off-site. The role involves working weekdays and weekends as needed.

What you'll do

• Perform scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, engine tune-ups and lubrication, so vehicles run efficiently and meet environmental standards
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicle engines and components, using both manual techniques and computerised diagnostic tools
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems and other parts to examine components for wear or damage
• Repair or replace faulty, worn or defective parts, using service manuals and technical references as required
• Reassemble engines and mechanical systems accurately after repair or maintenance work
• Test and adjust mechanical parts to confirm they operate properly after repairs or replacements
• Inspect vehicles to determine roadworthiness and, if certified, issue compliance certificates or outline the repairs required
• Respond to on-site vehicle breakdowns and provide emergency mechanical assistance when necessary

About you

• More than 1 year of experience working as a Motor Mechanic
• Certificate III in Automotive or a higher qualification
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
